RESTORATION DRAMA

William ConGreve

The Way of the World

Fidelis played Mrs Marwood in Jocelyn Powell’s production of  Congreve's The Way Of The World at Birmingham University Drama Department

Although she has since then been such a force in the revival of Restoration Drama, thanks to her discoveries in The Female Wits , this student production is to date Fidelis’s only performance in a Restoration play.

Fidelis adapted Centlivre's The Basset Table and Manley's The Royal Mischief for BBC Radio and directed Centlivre's The Custom of the Country - retitled Wedlock Deadlock - at the King's Head

Fidelis also directed Wycherley’s The Country Wife at Central School of Speech and Drama.
